This fabulous Art Deco 18ct Gold Gilt snake choker is, Circa 1930.
A red Paste Stone is set into the snakes head.
This snake choker can also be worn as a bracelet as it is adjustable.
Serpent jewellery became popular during the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign coinciding with the full flowering of the Romantic Movement. Serpents represent love, loyalty and friendship, what a lovely combination. Serpents were given as a token of love and friendship during the Victorian Era.
The choker sits round the neck comfortably.
The reverse of the snakes head is fully hallmarked.
